Have you worked in manufacturing, automotive, or mechanical assembly and want to take that skillset into something bigger? This is it. You'll be building satellites and they don't get bigger than ours. If you have hands-on experience in manufacturing, automotive, or mechanical assembly, and are ready to apply those skills to something bigger, this is your opportunity. You'll be contributing to the build of real satellite hardware, supporting one of the most advanced space manufacturing programs in the country.
This position is based in our satellite production facility in Midland, TX, with full relocation provided (details below).
Position Overview
We are searching for an Environmental Test Technician II supports execution of environmental testing activities including thermal vacuum, vibration, shock, and acoustic testing. This role operates with moderate independence, contributing to test setup, execution, troubleshooting, and documentation while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The Technician II is expected to have a solid technical foundation and may assist in training, as needed.
Compensation & Schedule
  • Pay: $27.60/ hour based on experience, with overtime opportunities. Higher-level roles are available for more experienced candidates at increased pay.
  • Schedule: 3rd shift Friday through Sunday, 6AM to 6PM (3x12) with paid lunch and breaks.
  • Flexibility: Night and weekend shifts with increased pay are also available depending on experience and team needs.

What You'll Do:
  • Perform environmental testing including thermal vacuum, vibration, shock, acoustic, and related tests
  • Set up and operate test equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems
  • Follow established procedures, test plans, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Assist in planning and preparing test configurations, fixturing, and instrumentation setups
  • Monitor tests and record data accurately; identify and report anomalies or deviations
  • Troubleshoot basic to moderately complex test issues and support root cause investigations
  • Document test results, non-conformances, and observations in accordance with quality standards
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality requirements
  • Support maintenance and calibration of test equipment as needed
  • Assist in training and mentoring Technician I personnel
  • Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to support test objectives
  • Provide hands-on support to ensure successful and timely test execution

What You Bring:
  • 2+ years of relevant experience with an associate/trade school degree, or
  • 3-5 years of relevant hands-on experience in lieu of formal education
  • Experience supporting environmental testing or similar technical operations preferred

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with environmental test methods (thermal vacuum, vibration, shock, acoustic)
  • Familiarity with test instrumentation, sensors, and data acquisition systems
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and test documentation
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
  • Good communication and teamwork skills

Technology Stack
