Job description

Winter Environmental is seeking motivated Co-Op and Intern candidates to support large-scale industrial, environmental remediation, demolition, and specialty contracting projects throughout the Southeast and Eastern United States.

This role is designed for students pursuing degrees in Construction Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related fields who want hands-on exposure to real-world projects and field operations.

This is not a desk-only internship. Interns and co-op students will work alongside Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams on active industrial and environmental projects in both office and field environments.

Travel may be required depending on project needs.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with day-to-day project activities
  • Support field operations including site observations, safety meetings, and documentation
  • Help track manpower, equipment, and materials
  • Participate in project planning, scheduling, and project closeout activities
  • Assist with daily reports, job photos, quantity tracking, and project documentation
  • Help organize submittals, project files, and closeout documentation
  • Learn OSHA, EPA, and AHERA requirements related to environmental remediation
  • Observe asbestos abatement, demolition, and remediation procedures under supervision
  • Attend internal meetings, training sessions, and project reviews
  • Support coordination between project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and clients

Projects may include:

  • Industrial demolition and decommissioning
  • Environmental remediation
  • Hazardous material abatement
  • Manufacturing facility shutdowns
  • Commercial and institutional projects
  • Specialty environmental services

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from:
    • Construction Management
    • Engineering
    • Environmental Science
    • Or related program
  • Strong interest in construction, environmental remediation, or industrial work
  • Willingness to work in both office and field environments
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and company policies
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Preferred:

  • Prior internship, co-op, or field experience
  • Familiarity with construction drawings or project documentation
  • OSHA 10 certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Interest in long-term employment with Winter Environmental
