We are hiring a Senior Environmental Project Manager that will lead complex, multimillion dollar projects or programs for our Oil and Gas and Industrial clients. The Senior Project Manager assembles the project team, and manages the project scope, schedule, and budget to ensure Weston’s commitments and financial goals are met. The Senior Project Manager engages stakeholders to build trust and aligns stakeholder expectations and relationships. Stakeholders are both internal and external, including client groups, regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and vendors.  The Senior Project Manager leads PM development discussions at the local level, participates in the broader PM community across Weston nationally and is often a subject matter expert (SME) in a particular area.

Location: San Antonio, Houston, Austin, Dallas, Texas

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, or geology or environmental related degree from an accredited university.
  • Fifteen (15) or more years of experience in the field of remedial consulting for the Oil and Gas Industries including soil, groundwater, sediment, surface water, and vapor intrusion.
  • Ten (10) or more years of project management experience on remedial consulting projects.
  • Knowledge of state and Federal regulations and ability to interface with regulatory agencies.
  • A Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, Professional Geologist (P.G.), or other like registration is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, negotiate and lead regulatory and closure strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead project teams with projects of advanced technical scope and complexity.
  • Promotes an environment where Weston team members establish relationships and build trust with their clients and stakeholder counterparts.
  • Ability to excel at managing scope, schedule, and budget.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • A Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, Professional Geologist (P.G.), LSRP, or other like registration is preferred.
  • Experience with complex remedial projects.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Manages project teams by clearly communicating expectations for project requirements, scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Manages projects that are large and complex in scope with multiple subcontractors and internal team members.
  • Identifies project management talent on projects and encourages their development and empowerment.
  • Provides strong technical leadership and mentorship for the team
  • Sets a common vision and enable technical team members to be successful and able to identify their goals and individual contributions to a project.
  • Can identify and recruit appropriate Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to participate with the team.
  • Communicates with and aligns team beyond scope of work to maximize outcomes for all stakeholders.
  • Management and communication of project changes with the client and the project team.
  • Consistently meets or out-performs planned project profitability and metrics (NIBT, profit margins, DSO, etc.) on projects with moderate risk.
  • Manages quality and H&S to achieve zero accidents and ensure quality goals are met.
  • Assists with proposal efforts, including costing and profitability planning; offers value-engineering solutions.
  • Able to understand and articulate project scope based upon RFP and/or contract.
  • Proactive identification of project issues and development of options for corrective action.
  • Timely and accurate submittal of invoices. Monitoring and reporting of the status of accounts receivable and recommends appropriate action on overdue accounts.
  • Compliance with WESTON purchasing and subcontracting requirements.
  • Procures additional follow-on work of varying types from clients/stakeholders.
