Job description

Koniag Operations Services LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an Environmental/Energy Manager to support KOS and our government customer in Quantico, VA. This position is for a Future New Business Opportunity.

Koniag Operations Services, LLC, is seeking a qualified and experienced Environmental/Energy Manager to oversee and administer all environmental and energy management programs in support of a government contract. In this important role, your primary duty and sole responsibility will be ensuring that all Contractor operations adhere to the goals and policies of the Environmental Management System (EMS), the Installation Energy Plan, and all other specified sustainability requirements affecting this contract. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring environmental strategies, policies, and programs that promote sustainable development while ensuring full regulatory compliance.
Shift Structure:
  • Monday through Friday: Government's regular working hours (on-site)
  • May require flexible availability based on project work schedules

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary environmental and energy authority for the contract, ensuring all Contractor operations adhere to the goals and policies of the Environmental Management System (EMS), Installation Energy Plan, and all specified sustainability requirements
  • Develop, implement, and monitor environmental strategies, policies, and programs that promote sustainable development across all contract activities
  • Examine contract activities to identify areas where environmental and energy improvements can be made and implement corrective actions accordingly
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental legislation, federal energy laws, and energy policy, including energy and water reduction requirements and renewable energy requirements
  • Monitor and report on environmental and energy performance metrics, providing regular updates and recommendations to project leadership and government stakeholders
  • Support the development and maintenance of the Environmental Management System (EMS) in accordance with contract requirements and applicable federal standards
  • Identify and address environmental risks and compliance gaps, developing and implementing mitigation strategies as needed
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager, government stakeholders, and subcontractor teams to integrate environmental and energy requirements into all aspects of project planning and execution
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date environmental and energy records, reports, and documentation as required by contract and regulatory obligations

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with environmental procedures similar to those of this contract
  • Demonstrated familiarity with Environmental Management Systems (EMSs)
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and federal energy laws and policy, including:
  • Energy and water reduction requirements
  • Renewable energy requirements
  • Applicable regulations for operations similar to those of this contract
  • Primary duty and responsibility dedicated to environmental and energy management for this contract
