Transactional Legal Assistant
Location: Downtown Oakland, CA
Compensation: $36.00 per hour
Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract to Hire, Hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 day remote)
LHH is partnering with a respected law firm in Downtown Oakland to identify a detail-oriented Transactional Legal Assistant to support attorneys in a busy corporate and transactional practice. This opportunity is ideal for a candidate with at least one year of legal support experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential for success in this role. Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation, editing, formatting, and organization of transactional documents, correspondence, closing binders, and client files.
  • Maintain document management systems and ensure all records are accurate, complete, and properly filed.
  • Support attorneys with document revisions, proofreading, and quality control.
  • Provide administrative support throughout the lifecycle of corporate and commercial transactions.
  • Assist with assembling signature packets, coordinating execution of documents, tracking closing deliverables, and organizing closing materials.
  • Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings and conference calls, coordinate client appointments, and monitor deadlines.
  • Assist with travel arrangements and expense reporting as needed.
  • Track active matters and transaction milestones to help ensure deadlines are met and projects stay organized.
  • Maintain status reports, task lists, and matter-related databases to support workflow management.
  • Provide general administrative support to attorneys and the legal team, including preparing correspondence, processing invoices and expenses, coordinating internal and external meetings, and assisting with firm events or client functions when needed.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Legal Assistant, Administrative Assistant, or similar professional support role.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience supporting corporate, transactional, real estate, or business law practices is a plus but not required.
