About the Role
Atlas Copco is seeking a proactive and organized Facility Support & SHE (Safety, Health & Environmental) Coordinator to support our manufacturing operations in Shakopee, Minnesota. This role is responsible for maintaining safe, efficient, and compliant facility operations while coordinating key environmental, health, and safety initiatives.
The ideal candidate enjoys working across multiple departments, balancing hands-on facility support with safety coordination, regulatory compliance, training administration, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You'll Do
Facility & Production Support
  • Coordinate facility maintenance activities and manage facility-related consumables.
  • Support production operations by coordinating maintenance activities with Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Perform daily transportation of work-in-process (WIP) materials to and from local suppliers.
  • Support contractor management activities, including permits to work, contractor oversight, and obtaining vendor quotes.
  • Coordinate annual inspections and maintenance programs for cranes, forklifts, and related equipment.

Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE)
  • Maintain documentation, records, and procedures supporting ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications.
  • Assist with internal and external SHE audits and compliance activities.
  • Monitor and report regulatory requirements, including OSHA, Risk Control Elements (RCEs), and environmental obligations.
  • Participate in risk assessments, corrective action tracking, and SHE committee initiatives.
  • Investigate incidents, injuries, near misses, and accidents and support corrective action implementation.
  • Conduct monthly inspections of:
    • Fire extinguishers
    • Ladders
    • AEDs
    • First aid kits
    • Eyewash stations
    • Environmental compliance areas
  • Maintain records and documentation supporting regulatory and company compliance requirements.

Training & Employee Support
  • Coordinate required safety training programs, including:
    • Forklift Certification
    • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
    • Electrical Safety
    • Fire Extinguisher Training
    • Other OSHA-required training
  • Maintain employee training records and certifications.
  • Deliver periodic safety and compliance training sessions.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement
  • Gather and maintain SHE metrics and KPI data.
  • Support local and divisional reporting requirements.
  • Maintain reporting documentation and records.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, environmental performance, and facility operations.

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience supporting safety, environmental, facilities, or compliance activities.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Safety Science, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with facility management and maintenance coordination.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management systems.
  • OSHA 30-Hour certification.
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
  • Familiarity with Power BI.
