Description:
Duties will include promotion of public health through education, surveillance, consultation, inspection and enforcement of state environmental health laws and local regulations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation with an associate, bachelor's, or postgraduate degree from a program that is accredited by the National Environmental Health Science and Protection Accreditation Council (EHAC) and earned minimum of 15 semester hours in the physical, biological, natural, life, or health sciences and satisfactorily completed general and specialized instruction and training in environmental health approved by the Department. *If applicant only meets minimum qualifications, applicant will be considered an Environmental Health Associate and will gain an Environmental Health Specialist title after five years of service.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Registered Sanitarian with experience in Environmental Health. Onsite wastewater, onsite well, and food & lodging inspection experience preferred. Intern candidates may be considered. Graduation from a four-year university or college with 30 hours of physical or biological sciences necessary for registration as a Sanitarian Intern. Valid Driverโs License.
