Job description

About the role

As a Product Manager for the Research team at Anthropic, you will own the ideation and deployment of new models and products as we advance frontier, safe AI technology. You will work closely with our research teams to help productize credible applied research and identify high-potential use cases grounded in customer needs. We are looking for someone passionate about developing safe and beneficial artificial intelligence technologies. You thrive in ambiguous environments and can uncover latent, non-obvious use cases for nascent technologies, bringing these insights back to research. Your curiosity about user needs enables you to connect advanced technology to products that deliver real-world value.

We seek experienced founders and product managers who can bridge research and ambitious product experimentation, with the ability to create and grow entirely new product categories enabled by AI.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead vision, strategy, roadmap, and execution of frontier technologies that leverage the latest AI capabilities to solve real-world problems
  • Partner with research to define, improve, and ship model capabilities within a research area
  • Identify nascent research that could become transformative products
  • Synthesize user insights into actionable requirements and evaluations
  • Understand the AI landscape and ecosystem, ensuring we have an objective view of market capabilities and our position
  • Work with and influence a diverse set of stakeholders, including research, product engineering, and platform engineering teams
Minimum Qualifications
You might be a good fit if you:
  • Have a deep passion and curiosity for AI and LLMs. Use AI regularly.
  • Are a first-principles thinker with the ability to navigate and execute amidst ambiguity, flexing into different domains based on the business problem at hand and finding simple, easy-to-understand solutions
  • Possess a deep technical background with a strong grasp of AI/ML concepts and are willing to go deep on technical solutions; have a data-driven mindset with working proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Have strong user empathy and the ability to synthesize vague or contradictory feedback into actionable priorities
  • Have a track record of launching ambitious products that have achieved distribution or commercial success
  • Have intellectual curiosity without ego-comfortable asking questions and learning independently
  • Think creatively about the risks and benefits of new technologies, moving beyond past checklists and playbooks
  • Have a creative, hacker spirit and love solving puzzles
Preferred Qualifications
  • Have 5+ years in product management, with experience launching new products and scaling existing ones (founder background is a plus)
