The University of North Texas at Dallas (UNT Dallas) College of Business and Technology invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Information Technology (Cybersecurity Specialization) starting Fall 2027. This is a full-time, tenure-track position. The successful candidate will be expected to achieve excellence in teaching, research, and service, and to contribute to the growth of the UNT-Dallas Information Technology program. Position Overview
This position is responsible for teaching four (4) courses per semester and participating in service activities such as program development, course development, program assessment, program accreditation, and committee leadership. The successful applicant will be the inaugural cybersecurity professor at UNT Dallas and will be expected to engage in high-quality research and scholarship in their field, as well as provide instruction in a full range of undergraduate Cybersecurity and Information Technology courses, including but not limited to Foundations of Cybersecurity, Network Administration, Cloud Security, Computer Forensics, Computer Networks, and Programming. This position is scheduled to start Fall 2027 with the possibility of a Spring 2027 start.

Minimum Qualifications
- A doctoral degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- ABD will be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, and Computer Science.
- Demonstrated effective writing and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using technology in teaching and experience teaching in multiple modalities (hybrid, online, and face-to-face).
- Evidence of significant academic research and/or applied experience in Cybersecurity.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated effective writing and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using technology in teaching.
Preferred Qualifications
- Academic experience working on a campus with culturally diverse students, staff, and faculty.
- Experience in developing both face-to-face and online courses.
- Experience in curriculum development and program assessment.
Job Duties
