Job Description
AECOM has an exciting opportunity for a Project Environmental Engineer to join our Environment Remediation Practice team in Fort Lauderdale, FL. You will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering environmental remediation consulting services to our key clients.
The successful candidate will assume leadership roles on projects and within the department, and will develop strong relationships with the team, and with clients to enable the pursuit of new opportunities. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, site personnel and office management, and work both independently and as a part of a project team.
The successful candidate will be committed to the team's success and growth; will rigorously apply safety policies and procedures; will manage the technical, cost and schedule elements of project delivery; and will effectively manage the quality of field efforts and project deliverables within the bounds of the AECOM Quality Management System.
For the ideal candidate, this position will combine project work and some business development.
The job responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
  • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
  • Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
  • Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
  • Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
  • Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
  • Prepares technical specification sections.
  • Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • BA/BS in Environmental Engineering + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review
  • Due to the nature of this work, United States citizenship is a requirement

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering
  • Experience on work or projects with the Florida Department of Transportation
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) Licensure, certifications, and/or accreditations
  • 7+ years of experience in environmental consulting with focus in site assessment and/or remediation
  • 7+ years of project management experience
  • Proficient technical writing (remedial investigation reports, corrective action studies, etc.)
  • Familiarity with State and Federal Environmental Regulations
