We are Optimum, a leader in the fast-paced world of connectivity, and we're seeking driven and enthusiastic professionals to join our team, empower lives, fuel businesses, and drive innovation. Connectivity is now longer a luxury, but a necessity. A career at Optimum means you'll be enabling progress and enhancing lives by providing reliable, high-speed connectivity solutions that keep the world connected. Our successes, now and in the future, are powered by our amazing product, a commitment to our people and culture, and the connections we make in our communities.

If you are resourceful, collaborative, and passionate about delivering consistent excellence, Optimum is for you!

Job Summary

This role offers the chance to sharpen media relations skills, hone your storytelling skills, and drive impact in the communities that Optimum serves. This well-rounded role will have you working directly with reporters, driving impact internally through Optimum's weekly all-employee newsletter and supporting the company's community-driven initiatives. While not directly on our social media content development team, we're also looking for a team player who is watching the latest social and cultural trends and will partner with our integrated marketing team members.

Responsibilities

Media Relations

  • Research and maintain media lists, monitor coverage, and flag opportunities for the team.
  • Help coordinate outreach to local and national reporters, including drafting creative pitches and tracking responses.
  • Contribute to media reports and recaps that summarize results and learnings from announcements.

Stakeholder and Community Engagement

  • Support planning and logistics for PR-related community events, and recognition moments.
  • Assist with developing remarks and talking points for external, community-focused events and engagements.
  • Work closely with community affairs and government affairs to ensure alignment with planning and execution of community moments.

Internal Communications

  • Assist with creating and publishing the company's weekly all-employee newsletter across internal channels.
  • Source and compile interesting stories across the company to share via the newsletter.
  • Coordinate reviews, routing, and approvals to keep projects on track and ensure consistency of message and tone.

Execution & Innovation

  • Bring proactive ideas and editorial thinking to the table, constantly looking for new ways to elevate engagement and impact.
  • Show curiosity in team meetings by identifying story ideas, content opportunities, and process improvements.
  • Respond quickly and thoughtfully to evolving business needs with speed, clarity, and agility.
  • Maintain a strong bias toward action, quick iteration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications

What We're Looking For:

* 1-3 years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, or related fields (in-house or agency).
* Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a keen eye for tone, clarity, and audience.
* Experience with core media relations tactics: (e.g., drafting pitches, researching outlets, pitching reporters, and monitoring coverage)
* Collaborative teammate with a willingness to learn, take feedback, and support others in a fast-moving environment.
* Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple assignments with direction and feedback.

Why This Role Matters:

This role gives you the chance to help shape Optimum's story in real time and bring clarity to an evolving, high-impact business. This is a company directly transforming itself into the best connectivity provider in every community it serves. Your work will help people understand why connectivity matters and how Optimum shows up for its customers across its 21-state footprint.

If you are a natural storyteller with a passion for people, a willingness to learn, someone who wants to test new ideas (quickly) and a drive to make an impact, this is a strong place to grow your PR career.

At Optimum, every action and interaction we take part in, is driven by our three Guiding Principles: Do What's Right, Drive One Optimum, and Make It Happen. These aren't just words, they help us build trust, create real community, and embrace new ways of thinking. Our employees are empowered to do the right thing for our customers and co-workers and to recognize and reward these behaviors when we see them. It's all part of the bigger picture of "Be The Difference" where each employee knows they have the power to enact real change, share new ideas, and understand that learning never stops.

If you have the drive to succeed and are ready to embark on a thrilling career, seize this opportunity today, and join our winning team. Together, we'll shape the future of connectivity.
