Job description

Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree in safety engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field in safety or environmental

  • Assist line and staff management to understand OSHA regulations and standards, including guidance on handling OSHA compliance, inspections, and citations.

  • Investigates injuries in conjunction with line and staff personnel. Notifies top management of pertinent details.

  • Evaluate hazardous conditions and practices and develops hazard control practices and programs.

  • Assist in communication hazard control information and evaluates effectiveness of the control

  • Guides and assists plan personnel at location with critical safety and health problems.

  • Overview company accident statistics and makes recommendations for correction of problem areas.

Requirements

  • OSHA Certified
  • 3+ Years of experience in safety management in a steel manufacturing facility
  • Familiar with safety and environmental programs
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in safety engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field in safety or environmental
