Assistant Project Manager

Singleton Construction

Lancaster, OH โ€ข On-site

Full-time

Job description

Ready for more than just supporting projects?

Some Assistant Project Managers spend years taking notes and updating spreadsheets.

At Singleton Construction, you'll do much more than that.

You'll work alongside experienced Project Managers on major national programmes while also having the opportunity to take ownership of smaller projects yourself. We believe the best way to develop great Project Managers is by giving them real responsibility, with the right support behind them.

If you're organised, proactive and excited by the idea of growing your career with a company that trusts its people, we'd love to hear from you.

Why Singleton?

Singleton Construction delivers nationwide retail and commercial construction programmes for some of America's best-known brands.

Our clients trust us because we build strong relationships, solve problems quickly and deliver projects the right way. The same approach applies to our people.

You'll join a collaborative team where your ideas are valued, your development is supported and your contribution genuinely makes a difference.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for ambitious people who want to grow with us.

What you'll be doing

As an Assistant Project Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering successful construction projects from start to finish.

Depending on your experience, you'll support larger programs while also managing smaller projects independently.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with the planning and delivery of construction projects.
  • Managing your own smaller projects from pre-construction through closeout.
  • Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.
  • Supporting budgets, schedules and project documentation.
  • Monitoring project progress and helping resolve issues before they impact delivery.
  • Building strong relationships with clients and project partners.
  • Supporting contract administration, procurement and change management.
  • Working closely with Superintendents to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
  • Helping deliver an exceptional experience for every client.

No two projects, or days, are ever the same.

What success looks like

You'll become someone clients trust and colleagues rely on.

You'll confidently manage smaller projects, support larger programmes, keep stakeholders informed, anticipate challenges before they become problems and consistently deliver projects that meet Singleton's high standards.

As your experience grows, so will your opportunities.

Requirements

What we're looking for

We're looking for people who enjoy taking ownership, solving problems and working as part of a team.

You'll likely have:

  • 2-5 years experience within commercial construction, either as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Coordinator or similar role.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Confidence managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership.
  • The ability to travel to project locations as required.
  • Experience delivering retail, commercial or multi-site construction projects is advantageous, but not essential.
Don't tick every box?

That's okay.

We're looking for people with potential as well as experience. If you're excited by the opportunity and believe you could make a positive impact, we'd encourage you to apply.

Benefits

Why you'll love working here
  • The opportunity to manage your own projects and accelerate your career.
  • Exposure to nationally recognised construction programmes.
  • A collaborative team that genuinely supports your development.
  • Clear progression towards Project Manager and beyond.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • A company where initiative is recognised and great work is rewarded.
