Dewberry is currently seeking an Environmental Science Intern to join our Fairfax, VA office for Summer 2027. This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and talented individual to spend the summer working with a team of talented environmental professionals and apply their academic knowledge in the environmental field.

The individual will assist professionals with work associated with aspects of natural resource inventory, analysis, wetland delineation, permitting and mitigation.


  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Geology, or a related field
  • Successful candidate must also posses excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Working knowledge MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Salary Range: $18.75/hour - $29.75/hour. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly. 


Summer Intern Program

During the summer intern program, interns gain hands-on project experience, develop technical skills, and put their classroom knowledge into action. Our interns are assigned meaningful work and are given the opportunity to work on projects similar to what they would be engaging with as a full-time employee.

Our interns get the opportunity to participate in a series of workshops and events, including:

  • Networking opportunities to meet other interns, staff, and senior leaders across the business.
  • Learning about our services, projects, and clients.
  • Professional development workshops, including a career planning workshop and a DiSC assessment to learn more about themselves and how to work effectively with others.
