Job description


Position Summary

Assists the Departmental Coordinator with daily responsibilities in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Ensures that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner for patients, staff, and visitors.

Essential Functions

  1. Follow proper cleaning methods specific to each area of the facility to ensure efficiency and time management.
  2. Clean and sanitize various areas, including patient rooms, offices, lounges, lobbies, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairwells, windows, light fixtures, drapes, cubicle curtains, miscellaneous linens, and tilt trucks.
  3. Vacuum and edge carpets, rugs, walk-off mats, and upholstered furniture; complete additional floor care assignments as needed.
  4. Dust furniture, medical and computer equipment, vents, window blinds, and all flat surfaces in work areas.
  5. Remove trash, soiled linens, and infectious waste using appropriate containers and transport to designated disposal or storage areas.
  6. Perform floor care duties: dust/wet mopping, scrubbing, stripping, refinishing, burnishing, shampooing, and extraction.
  7. Adhere to all safety and universal precaution standards both individually and department-wide.
  8. Uses appropriate cleaning agents, tools, and supplies according to established procedures.
  9. Work various shifts (day, evening, night) as assigned and complete work promptly.
  10. Perform other related duties as assigned.

  1. Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs. and push a minimum of 160 lbs.
  2. Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours), and perform repetitive hand movements (wiping, scrubbing, pulling).
  3. Must possess good flexibility and have adequate vision and hearing (correctable with prosthetics if necessary).
  4. Must be able to work outdoors between buildings as needed.
