Job Summary

Conducts visual and mechanical inspections of incoming materials, parts, and packaged goods as well as in-process inspections of current work orders to ensure that products meet established standards.ย  Identifies items out of standard and reports results to quality and manufacturing leadership.

Essential Job Functions*

  • Inspects Incoming Shipments by performing destructive and nondestructive inspection on incoming product to ensure it meets established requirements; and, identifying and reporting products that does not meet established requirements.
  • Inspects In-Process Work Orders by conducting in-process inspection of production during the workday to ensure product meets established requirements; performing outgoing audits to ensure orders comply with established requirements; verifying products upon change-over to ensure correctness of the production run and that product meets established requirements; and, identifying and reporting products that do not meet established requirements.
  • Records data on supplies, equipment, and products by maintaining and adjusting various instruments and equipment to ensure accuracy of the measurements taken using the equipment; maintaining records of accuracy; maintaining a log of items identified as out of tolerance to established requirements; and monitoring supply levels and reports when supplies need to be ordered.
  • Analyzes data to make recommendations for changes to supplies / procedures by analyzing data to determine if there are trends relating to nonconformance with established requirements; and, interacting with other departments as necessary to resolve quality issues.
  • Safety by maintaining a clean and organized work environment; following safety policies and procedures; and reporting unsafe conditions to Supervisor.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma.
  • Knowledge of quality and manufacturing processes.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
