Job description

Description:

We are hiring an experienced Quality Control Floor Inspector to verify that parts and assemblies meet engineering specifications. You will work directly from complex engineering drawings, apply GD&T principles, and use a range of precision measurement instruments to ensure our products meet the highest quality standards. You own the quality of every part you approve.

Metrology experience is essential for this role. Candidates must demonstrate hands-on proficiency interpreting and measuring against engineering prints using multiple gage instrument types.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect parts and assemblies for compliance with engineering drawings and quality standards
  • Interpret complex, multi-tolerance drawings and apply GD&T principles accurately
  • Select and operate the appropriate measurement instrument for each inspection task
  • Approve or reject parts based on dimensional and visual inspection results
  • Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records
  • Communicate nonconformances clearly to production and engineering teams
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated metrology experience — hands-on measurement using multiple gage types (calipers, micrometers, CMM, height gauges, go/no-go gauges, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles
  • Proven ability to read and interpret detailed engineering blueprints and technical drawings
  • Experience inspecting machined parts and/or assemblies in a manufacturing environment
  • Ownership mindset — you take responsibility for the quality of every part you approve

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. As a condition of employment, employees are required to join the union after 30 days of employment.
