While both roles support personal injury cases, an entry-level personal injury attorney is a licensed legal professional authorized to represent clients and handle legal proceedings. A paralegal assists attorneys with case preparation and administrative tasks but cannot provide legal advice or represent clients in court. The attorney role requires a JD and bar admission, whereas a paralegal typically has a paralegal certification or relevant degree. Both work in similar environments but have different responsibilities and legal authority.
