The Field & Client Business Development Group supports the Firm's Financial Advisors by managing the field sales support of non-banking products and the business development functions for our branch network. The team is responsible for driving revenue growth nationally across all product areas excluding banking. Reporting to the Sales Desk Management team, the Consulting Group (CG) Sales Analyst is responsible for supporting sales activities across Advisory products in their assigned markets. The role allows for continued professional development & networking throughout the organization. The Morgan Stanley Sales Desk Analyst role is a unique opportunity to prepare and develop the skillset for a career in the Wealth Management division of the financial services industry. Team members will specialize in Insured Solutions and will have the following responsibilities:

  • Provide consultative support and product guidance to Financial Advisors across a broad range of insured and investment solutions, including annuities, life insurance, private placement life insurance and variable annuities, long-term care, disability insurance, structured settlements, and property & casualty solutions

  • Partner with Financial Advisors to identify client needs, uncover business opportunities, and recommend appropriate insured solutions to support client objectives.

  • Conduct targeted outbound campaigns to drive advisor engagement, generate new opportunities, and promote relevant product solutions across the field organization.

  • Deliver timely, accurate, and professional support to Financial Advisors through inbound call coverage.

  • Utilize CRM tools to document advisor interactions, track opportunities, measure engagement, and highlight commercial progress and business outcomes.

  • Leverage product expertise to support book reviews, evaluate existing policies, identify coverage gaps, and assist with the consolidation or replacement of external contracts, where appropriate.

  • Maintain strong proficiency in the platforms, tools, products, and processes required to support daily Insured Solutions business activity.

  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for the team by supporting best-practice sharing, process improvement, and training of new team members.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) required upon hire; Series 7 and Series 66 (or equivalent) required within 90 days of hire

  • Must hold a bachelor's degree, 2+ years of financial services experience or related industry preferred

  • Possess exemplary communication, presentation, and time-management skills

  • Stay organized, focused, and highly disciplined. Be able to keep track of simultaneous competing needs of their assigned Financial Advisors and execute on all necessary actions in a timely manner

  • Seek constructive feedback and coaching from both their Sales Desk Managers and Financial Advisors, actively using it to improve how they approach future tasks

  • Proactively analyze client relationships and make recommendations to team members and financial advisors on how to supplement the client experience

  • Establish, maintain and support strong working relationships with Financial Advisors and Product Team members. Demonstrate accountability and a strong work ethic to promote confidence and trust in their work

  • Be authorized to work in the U.S. without durational restrictions

  • Successfully complete background check and pre-employment assessments

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $70,000 and $115,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
