POSITION SUMMARY:

The Financial Analyst I is an entry level role designed for a recent graduate or early career professional seeking broad exposure to enterprise level financial planning and analysis.

As part of Corporate FP&A, this role supports the company's most critical planning, forecasting, and reporting activities. During the first 12-24 months, the analyst will gain exposure across multiple areas of Corporate FP&A and corporate functions, building a strong foundation in forecasting, financial modeling, variance analysis, and business communication.

This role is intentionally designed to provide rotational style exposure across the enterprise, helping develop well rounded FP&A professionals with a strong understanding of how Advanced Energy plans, invests, and manages performance at the corporate level.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will learn and support:

  • Assist in building and updating models used for OPEX, CAPEX, and consolidated financial forecasts, including key drivers, assumptions, and sensitivities.
  • Prepare clear and structured variance analyses (what changed, why it changed, and what it means).
  • Support the creation of monthly dashboards and recurring reporting packages with clear takeaways for FP&A leadership.
  • Contribute to quarterly, annual, and long range planning cycles, including data gathering, consolidation, and analysis.
  • Partner with stakeholders across corporate functions to translate business activity into financial insights.

You will build toward owning:

  • Ownership of specific components of monthly reporting and analysis as experience grows.
  • Improving forecast models, templates, and reporting workflows to reduce manual effort and increase accuracy.
  • Supporting enterprise wide initiatives such as ERP modernization, system enhancements, and reporting automation (testing, validation, and deployment support).
  • Contributing to special analytical projects (scenario modeling, resource allocation analysis, ROI assessments).

ROTATION & ENTERPRISE EXPOSURE:

  • Gain hands on exposure across multiple areas within Corporate FP&A (e.g., consolidated reporting, functional OPEX support, planning cycles, strategic initiatives).
  • Collaborate with teams across Engineering, IT, Operations, and Corporate Functions.
  • Build a broad understanding of how decisions are made and communicated at the enterprise level.
  • Develop skills and experience that support long term growth into more advanced FP&A roles.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Location: Denver, CO; occasional domestic travel required.
  • Standard office environment.
  • Flexibility to collaborate with peers across multiple time zones as part of a global team.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Essential:

  • Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail.
  • Solid Excel fundamentals (formulas, pivot tables, basic data cleanup).
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain the "so what," not just the numbers.
  • Growth mindset: curious, coachable, and eager to learn.

Preferred:

  • Internship, co-op, or project experience in Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or Operations.
  • Exposure to financial modeling, forecasting, or reporting through coursework or internships.
  • Familiarity with ERP, planning, or reporting tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Adaptive, Anaplan).
  • Exposure to LLMs, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar tools is a plus.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field (new grads welcome).
