What You'll Do:
As the Estimator, you will perform cost estimating for residential and commercial projects including site development, utilities, earthwork, demolition, and infrastructure support ensuring the company remains competitive and profitable.
Your Accountabilities in the Role:
  • Performs estimating of large and small projects, from bid review and scope of definition through proposal submission.
  • Reviews blueprints and site data to define the scope of work to ensure accurate quotes.
  • Identifies and assesses risk and constructability issues specific to the work site environments.
  • Solicits, evaluates and negotiates subcontractor and vendor pricing, ensuring complete coverage of required bid items.
  • Develops detailed quantity of take-offs, cost build-ups (labor, material, equipment, subcontractors), and risk allowances.
  • Prepares and presents estimate summaries, bid cost breakdowns and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Collaborates with project management and operations to review constructability, value-engineering alternatives, and schedule impacts.
  • Participates in site visits and pre-bid meetings to gain firsthand understanding of field conditions.

Position Requirements:
  • Education: High School Diploma; or equivalent combination of education and industry experience required.
  • Experience: 2+ years of excavation or construction industry experience (Willing to train the right person)
  • Certification(s): N/A
  • Functional Skills: Strong knowledge of excavation (earthmoving, site utilities, mass grading, infrastructure, hauling/aggregate, etc.); Able to interpret heavy civil project drawings and specifications. Strong numerical, analytical, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple bids under tight deadlines. Detail-oriented with solid negotiation skills.
  • Technology Aptitude/Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft office or Apple Products.
  • Language Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills needed to communicate with all levels inside and outside the organization.
  • Leadership/Behaviors: Self-motivated; Able to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Culture Match Behaviors: Strong work ethic, where team members grow along with the business, and everyone is treated equally and fairly.
