Job description

We are partnered with an engineering firm hiring for Field Technicians. This position works directly alongside an experienced Crew Chief to assist with utility locating, vacuum excavation (soft digging), and job site preparation. Daily responsibilities include preparing equipment and supplies, traveling to project sites, locating and verifying underground utilities, assisting with excavation activities, and restoring work areas upon project completion. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, is eager to learn, and is interested in building a career in the utility and construction industry.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • Previous experience in construction, landscaping, excavation, utility locating, heavy equipment operation, or truck driving is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including digging, lifting, carrying equipment, and working on active job sites.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including Florida summer heat.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and company protocols.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.

Skills:

  • Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under the direction of a Crew Chief.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate hand tools.
  • Attention to detail when identifying and marking utility locations.
  • Ability to safely assist with utility locating and vacuum excavation operations.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6 AM - 5 PM, OT mostly every week
