Intertek is searching for an Entry-level Technician to join our Building & Construction team in our York, PA office.

What you'll do:

  • Assist with or perform a variety of tests on construction materials using testing equipment
  • Read construction documents to determine project details and specifications
  • Neatly and accurately complete all required paperwork, including test reports and timesheets - in a timely manner
  • Records and reports test results after performing mathematical calculations
  • Communicate orally and in writing with different parties involved with the project
  • Perform maintenance/cleaning of equipment as needed
  • Adheres to construction site safety guidelines and promotes a safe working environment
  • Comfortable using MS Office applications (Word/Excel/Outlook)
  • Inspection of construction operations
  • Other duties as assigned

What it takes to be successful in this role:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Technical competency to understand and communicate test procedures, specifications, and results
  • General construction/carpentry knowledge and experience using power tools
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills - both written and oral
  • Good computer skills using Word and Excel  
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, bend, crawl, push and pull, stretch, sit, walk and stand for extended periods of time
  • Valid driver's license and reliable driving record (required)
  • Ability to pass pre-employment check
