Job description

UX Designer
MeridianLink is seeking a talented UX Designer to join our UX Design team within the Product organization. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex design challenges and is passionate about creating intuitive, scalable digital experiences in financial services and lending space.
You will design primarily for B2B enterprise users (financial institutions), while shaping experiences that ultimately impact end consumers (B2B2C). You will play a key role in designing and optimizing user experiences for digital loan and account applications, ensuring workflows are efficient for internal users and effective for end users. Your work will directly impact how users interact with our digital products, helping to streamline critical financial workflows while adding moments of delight through thoughtful UI, visual, and interaction design.
This role requires strong ownership across the full design lifecycle-from problem framing through final specifications-while working within product constraints and evolving patterns within our design system. You will also have the opportunity to apply emerging AI-powered UX processes for design and testing, as well as contribute to AI features that meaningfully enhance the lending experience.
Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to UX design efforts across the product lifecycle, from discovery through final design specifications and delivery
  • Translate complex financial workflows into intuitive user experiences for B2B users and downstream consumer interactions
  • Design, prototype, and test user experiences for digital financial products
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management and Engineering to align user needs with business goals and technical considerations. Participate in discovery efforts to help define problems and shape design opportunities
  • Communicate design rationale clearly by articulating the "why" behind decisions-including user needs, business context, and intended outcomes-so cross-functional partners can make informed decisions
  • Work with Engineering throughout design and development to validate feasibility, understand constraints, and support the delivery of practical, high-quality solutions
  • Participate in agile processes such as backlog grooming, sprint planning, and reviews to ensure design intent is well understood and implemented effectively
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and clearly communicate design decisions and tradeoffs
  • Present and defend UX decisions to stakeholders
  • Work within an established design system, leveraging and improving patterns as needed
  • Design within product, technical, and regulatory constraints while maintaining usability
  • Create scalable design systems, components, and high-fidelity prototypes in Figma
  • Participate in grooming and ensure high-quality implementation
  • Use AI tools (e.g., Claude Code) and automation tools (e.g., Make) to accelerate ideation, prototyping, and workflow efficiency
  • Incorporate user testing, usability feedback, and research insights to inform design decisions
  • Partner with stakeholders to gather qualitative and quantitative insights and iterate designs

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of UX design experience, preferably in enterprise (B2B) or complex products
  • Strong experience working within design systems at scale
  • Experience designing responsive web applications across desktop and mobile breakpoints grounded in a mobile first mindset
  • Expert proficiency in Figma (design systems, components, prototyping)
  • Ability to balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints
  • Experience or familiarity with user research and usability testing methods
  • Comfort using AI tools as part of the design workflow

What We're Looking For
  • Experience in B2B or B2B2C environments with complex workflows
  • Strong ownership mindset with ability to drive projects forward
  • Systems thinker who can work within and evolve design systems
  • Ability to deliver high-quality responsive web experiences
  • Collaborative partner across Product and Engineering teams
  • Values data-informed decision making and user validation
  • Curiosity and comfort with AI and emerging design tools
