We are looking for a Software Engineer who will have a rare opportunity to build market-leading products and dive into the depth of AI-first software development over the next 24 months. Working side-by-side with the founding team, this person will be a key contributor to turning Koop into a go-to brand for thousands of customers. Specifically, the candidate will:

• Work in a high pressure, no-BS environment
• Deliver results, not reports/diagrams/plans/presentations
• Learning is #1 priority. Learn to build and to ship
• No red tape, no bureaucracy, few meetings
• Use the latest AI tools in ways that no one thought of so far, and explore how software will be developed in the next 5+ years
• Gain real-world experience building products that ship to real customers
• Push the boundaries of latest tools and approaches

You will join a team of product builders, software engineers, quantitative modelers, insurance professionals, and emerging risks visionaries, all bound together by an incredible drive to define, build, and scale a powerful regulatory readiness platform.

• Develop new products while working alongside the experienced and highly motivated team
• Vibe code; prompt, generate, iterate, or otherwise deliver good quality production code
• We choose speed, quality and cost, not 2 out of 3
• Build full-stack software, work across multiple programming languages and frameworks
• Typescript, React, Python, Go and Terraform
• Mostly new products with little legacy code
• Explore new architectures, novel technologies and frameworks
• We have proprietary technologies that are super cool, we need help developing and improving them

• Required: some experience programming, in academic or professional setting
• Bonus: show us your side projects, something you’ve built
• Preferred: recently graduated or currently enrolled in a Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related program
• Bonus: background in Mathematics, Physics or related hard science field
• Experience using the latest tools and technologies: Bolt.new, Cursor, ChatGPT, Claude, etc.
