Software Engineer-Developer (Development)

The Boeing Company is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Developer to join the National Systems Programs (NSP) software team located in Seal Beach, California. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

The selected candidate will perform full stack development using the AWS infrastructure. The ideal candidate has experience working across the tech stack with a solid understanding of software architecture, infrastructure tooling, and engineering fundamentals. The candidate will collaborate with cross functional teams and stakeholders to design and implement scalable software solutions, ensure engineering excellence, and achieve program objectives.

Position Responsibilities:

Leadthe design, development, test, and maintenance of web applications that meet industry, customer, safety, and regulation standards.

Leadthe review, analysis, and translation of customer requirements into initial design of software products.

Coordinatethe development, maintenance, enhancement and optimization of software products and functionalities for systems integrations.

Leadactivities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software products.

Lead the agile software development lifecycle including planning, reviews, and supporting customer meetings.

Debug andlead theresolution of issues identified to ensure the reliability and efficiency of software products.

Lead handling of user inquiries, troubleshooting technical issues and user feedback analysis.

Lead research andimplementation of current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks and changes in regulations relevant to software development.

Leaddevelopment, establishment, monitoring and improvement of software processes, tools and key performance metrics that align projects with organizational goals and industry benchmarks.

Leadexecution and documentation of software research and development projects.

Consulton software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations.

Leadsoftware project management activities and software supplier management functions.

Leadtracking and evaluation of software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process compliance to project plans and industry standards.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at one of the listed location options.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI U.S. Security Clearance with an adjudicated polygraph. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

Bachelor's Degree

This position requires an Active Top-Secret U.S. Security Clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility and adjudicated polygraph pre-start.

5+years' experience in foundation Computer Science knowledge

5+ years' experience in Python

5+ plus years' experience with JavaScript and/or Typescript including frameworks like React

Preferred Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 9+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor's Degree and 13+ years of directly related work experience OR 17+ years of related, relevant experience

Experience leading projects and/or individuals in software development lifecycle tasks

Strong understanding of software architecture principles and design patterns

2+ years' experience with Agile or SAFe practices, including daily standup, User Stories, Sprints, and Release Planning

Familiarity with relational databases

Experience with Infrastructure Tooling (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD Pipelines)

Experience in writing and executing test cases, including unit, integration, and system testing, to ensure software functionality and performance meet specifications

Experience with systems engineering or software development on space-based or ground-based systems

Travel: Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10%
