Job description

Promote, establish, communicate, and implement safety expectations and initiatives; monitor and stimulate execution with contractor's safety policy, rules, and procedures; and monitor conformance with project and site safety execution plans and implement improvements where appropriate.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This job description is not intended, nor should it be construed, to be an all-inclusive list of responsibilities, duties, skills or working conditions associated with the job. It is intended to be a general description of the essential duties and requirements common to positions of this type and may be subject to change. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  1. Ensure land or offshore based worksites are in compliance with customer, state, and federal regulations. Conduct risk assessments and inspections and provide corrective/preventive measures.
  2. Work with company and contractor's site management team to implement the project and site safety programs.
  3. Conduct regular safety inspections/assessments on-site locations in accordance with established project and site safety plans or as requested by site team members.
  4. Inspect work environment looking for work hazards and safety violations. Conduct safety audits. Report results to management as needed.
  5. Monitor work processes to ensure compliance with the site work permit system and area/system responsibilities.
  6. Participate in investigation and follow-up of incidents/accidents; prepare notifications/reports for communication of significant incidents to company project/functional management per project incident reporting procedures.
  7. Advise site team (company, contractor, and subcontractors) of company's' safety requirements, regulations, expectations, and best practices.
  8. Conduct daily worksite safety meetings.
  9. Examine credentials, licenses, or permits to ensure compliance with licensing requirements.
  10. Responsible for facilitating JSAs, Hot Work Permits, Confined Space Entry Permits, Lockout/Tagout, etc.
  11. Generate reports for management and customers as needed.
  12. May carry/handle equipment.
  13. Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. Must be willing to work rotational assignments (i.e. 14x14 rotation)
  3. Minimum of 2 years safety experience in the petrochemical industry.
  4. Current and valid state driver's license.
  5. Must be knowledgeable of company protocols, operational procedures and safety policies.
  6. Must be able to read, write and communicate professionally and effectively with employees and managers. Must possess the ability to compose simple correspondence or reports within Microsoft Office suite. Must possess the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees and/or managers.
