Our Fortune 500 client is looking for a Telecommunications Engineer to work on their project based out of Tallahassee, FL / Onsite.
              
Job Title: Telecommunications Engineer
Location: Tallahassee, FL / Onsite
Duration: 12 Months 
     
Job Description: 
  • Administering analyzing, and improving enterprise network, telecommunications, and security technologies;
  • Performing engineering, administration, capacity planning, and operational support for enterprise Cisco, Palo Alto, and other critical network security platforms, including remote site connectivity and related infrastructure;
  • Monitoring, identifying, and addressing trends, risks, vulnerabilities, and conditions that may develop into service-impacting issues;
  • Evaluating, assessing, troubleshooting, and supporting enterprise telecommunications, network, firewall, and related infrastructure systems to maintain secure, stable, and reliable operations;
  • Supporting vulnerability monitoring, analysis, prioritization, and remediation activities associated with network and security infrastructure;
  • Administering, maintaining, and supporting enterprise network monitoring and management tools used to identify performance, availability, and service-impacting issues;
  • Researching, recommending, and supporting technology solutions and enhancements aligned with operational requirements, security standards, and agency priorities;
  • Recommending, implementing, and supporting improvements to enterprise voice, data, network, and security systems to strengthen operational continuity, resilience, and service reliability;
  • Maintaining, tuning, troubleshooting, and supporting VoIP, firewall, communications infrastructure, and network monitoring infrastructure, including advanced issue resolution and technical escalation support;
  • Developing technical specifications, implementation recommendations, and supporting documentation for VoIP, telecommunications, network, monitoring, and security-related solutions; and
  • Documenting, standardizing, and improving the operational network and telecommunications environment to support continuity of operations, knowledge transfer, supportability, and reduce reliance on limited specialized resources.
Required Experience
  • Three to Five (3-5) years of IT work experience with telecommunications and multi-platform environments, including the following:
    • Cisco – Internetworking Operating System(IOS),Scalable Link Interface (SLI),Access Control System (ACS) Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service (RADIUS) and Terminal Access Control Access System (TACAS+)
    • Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP)
    • Virtual Private Network (VPN)
    • Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) (Word Service Description Language (WSDL), Simple Objec Access Protocol (SOAP)
  • Three to Five (3-5) years of experience in providing technical support for maintenance over new and existing telecommunications services
  • Three to Five (3-5) years of experience in providing customer service for client- reported issues requiring technical assistance
  • Leadership experience with managing and completing complex projects relevant to telecommunications services
  • Experience in participating in the management and completion of complex projects relevant to telecommunications services as a team member
  • Industry certifications for the following areas, to include (but is not limited to).
    • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Collaboration.
    • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation Certificate
    • CCNA Route/Switch
    • CCNA Voice
    • Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT)
    • Cisco VTVS2 (Telepresence Training)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
