Job Title: Data Entry I
Job Description

This entry-level Data Entry I role focuses on accurately verifying and inputting information using a computer and related data entry devices. The position requires strong attention to detail, consistent documentation of information, and effective personal project and time management. The successful candidate will ensure data integrity while working independently to support accurate records and smooth operational processes.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret source documents such as canceled checks, sales reports, bills, and other records in order to extract and prepare data for entry.
  • Enter data into specific data fields or systems using keyboards, scanners, or other data entry devices in a precise and timely manner.
  • Compile, sort, and organize information before entry to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Verify the accuracy of data prior to entry and after input to maintain high-quality records.
  • Locate and correct data entry errors, inconsistencies, or missing information, or promptly report issues to supervisors when necessary.
  • Compare entered data with source documents or re-enter data in verification format to detect and correct errors.
  • Maintain logs, records, and documentation of daily activities and completed work to ensure traceability and accountability.
  • Accurately document and record customer or client information in the appropriate systems.
  • Use computer applications, including word processing and spreadsheet software, to support data entry tasks and documentation.
  • Manage personal workload and time effectively to complete tasks within established deadlines while working independently.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in data entry with strong typing skills and accuracy.
  • Ability to use computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail when reviewing and entering data.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Willingness to complete a speed and accuracy data entry test, which may be required.

The environment is structured and process-driven, with a focus on accuracy, consistency, and timely completion of tasks. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.75 - $17.75/hr.
