Job description

Job Title:  Machine Operator I, Entry Level
Location: Pomona, CA
Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Shift:  2nd Shift - 3:00pm - 11:30pm
Pay Rate:  $18.00 + 5% Shift Differential


Position Summary

Operate and monitor production equipment to safely produce and package food products according to production, quality, and food safety standards.


Responsibilities

  • Operate, clean, and monitor production and packaging equipment.
  • Make basic machine adjustments and report equipment problems.
  • Complete machine startups, changeovers, and end-of-run procedures.
  • Inspect products and packaging for quality and accuracy.
  • Follow production schedules and minimize downtime and waste.
  • Complete production, quality-control, and QA documentation.
  • Enter production data into system when applicable.
  • Pack finished products as assigned.
  • Disassemble, clean, sanitize, and reassemble equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow GMPs, SOPs, PPE requirements, and all safety and food sanitation procedures.
  • Report unsafe conditions and product-quality issues immediately.
  • Assist in other production areas and inventory counts as needed.


Qualifications

  • Bilingual - Spanish
  • Entry-level; previous production or machine operation experience is preferred.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Basic math and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of both hands to inspect and pack products.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds independently.
  • Heavier items must be lifted with assistance or appropriate equipment.
