KidsPeace is a private charity dedicated to supporting the behavioral and mental health needs of children, families, and communities. Since 1882, we have offered psychiatric hospital services, residential treatment programs, accredited educational services, and foster care programs. Position Overview:
KidsPeace delivers leading, evidence based autism services for children, teens, and young adults.
The Behavioral Consultant (BC) serves as the primary therapist on the Treatment Team, overseeing and coordinating all treatment services for clients on their assigned caseload. This role is also responsible for providing clinical supervision to assigned Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs).
The Behavior Consultant serves as the primary therapist in the Treatment Team, coordinating all treatment services for each client in his/her caseload. The Behavior Consultant is responsible for ensuring appropriate behavior modification and crisis intervention processes for clients.

Job Duties / Essential Functions:
  1. Ensure the prompt and accurate completion of all necessary clinical, fiscal and program related forms. Assist the program manager in ensuring that all appropriate documentation is maintained.
  2. Provide training and supervision to applicable staff to ensure continuation of knowledge in the areas of crisis intervention and behavior modification and other related areas requiring increased skills.
  3. Work collaboratively with other members of the child's treatment team to design and direct the implementation of a behavior modification intervention plan.
  4. Ensure that all behavior modification intervention plans are proactive and individualized to the child and family needs. Ensure psychological testing is scheduled and completed for each assigned client as needed.
  5. Identify behavioral goals and intervention techniques, recommend non-averse behavioral change methods to treatment team members and family, and implement program using the least restrictive treatment modality.
  6. Effectively monitor behavioral plan implementation regularly and communicate with all staff and professionals involved to ensure the effectiveness of all intervention techniques.
  7. Maintain awareness of the KidsPeace continuum of services and actively promote the internal transfer and referral of children and families whenever clinically indicated by attending bi-annual training on the continuum and communicating with associates between levels of care and actively seeking opportunities to share information about the continuum with consumers as evidenced by written documentation in the client record.
  8. All other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
Must have an active Pennsylvania Behavior Specialist License and one of the following:
• Certification as a BCaBA
• At least 1 year of full-time experience providing ABA services and 12 credits in ABA
• At least 1 year of full-time experience providing ABA under the supervision of a BCBA and at least 40 hours of state-approved ABA training.
