Job description

The Forklift Operator loads and unloads product by operating a Forklift where needed in the Warehouse.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure loads are secure before loading and unloading (chock wheels)
  • Loads and unloads trucks and products using an electric sit-down forklift
  • Remove defective product so that it may be properly disposed of when needed
  • Stacks cases of produce neatly and evenly on a pallet to ensure safe transport
  • Operates equipment, such as forklift and pallet jacks safely as needed
  • Organize product in boxes according to lot and rotation
  • Performs responsibilities by policies and procedures of the company
  • Performs other duties as assigned when there are no trucks to load

Requirements
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High school Diploma or equivalent preferred. Must be able to read and write English. Must be able to display basic arithmetic skills.
TRAINING, SKILLS, LICENSES: 1 year of experience working in a warehouse, Forklift experience required. Electric Pallet Jack experience and/or Produce experience is preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The employee is frequently exposed to wet, loud, cold and/or humid conditions. The employee frequently is required to walk, use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, rotate or twist, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
