Job description

We're looking to hire talented people that are interested in getting trained in our business.  We currently have an opening for an Entry Level Forklift Operator & Order Puller (Trainee). This role will work on first shift and require regular movement throughout the shift, which means regular periods of standing, sitting, walking, and sliding/moving up to 100 pounds, and even driving heavy equipment outdoors in all types of weather. 

Under the direction of the Site Operations Manager, this role will focus on safely moving our product for our customers.  We want talented people that have a drive to perform and a commitment to safety.  From there, we will safely train them to pick and pull orders and operate a forklift to efficiently load and move product for our customers.

The shift will start at 4:30am and will end at approximately 1:00pm.  There is room for overtime and you can also drive your base pay rate higher, as you master more and more skills. Medical, dental and gainsharing benefits will also apply for all eligible employees. 

The starting pay is $22.33 per hour.  Overtime may be required if operating conditions warrant.

Key Qualities & Responsibilities:

  • Be coachable and willing to seek input from management and team
  • Be committed to customer service and safety
  • Be committed to wear the required personal protective equipment without being prompted
  • Be committed to safely operate and maintain all Weyerhaeuser equipment to efficiently cut and move product to designated areas
  • Be committed to take personal safety and the safety of others very seriously
  • Be committed to always speaking up about anything unsafe
  • Be committed to accurately counting, measuring, and documenting daily inventory for shipping and receiving

Key Requirements:

  • Ability to learn and master the operation of a chainsaw and forklift
  • Strong attention to detail, planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with within a team to solve customer problems and complete general tasks
  • Willing to work outside, regularly moving, in the elements five days a week and occasional weekends
  • Ability to continuously work while standing, sitting, and driving equipment throughout the day.
  • Ability to work, while lifting up to 50lbs
  • Ability to work, while moving and sliding up to 100lbs
  • Basic computer skills


Required Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • A proven track record of successful performance at school and work
