Job description

Entry Level Welder - 2nd Shift

Shift: Monday-Friday, 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM

Looking to grow your welding skills? Join a union shop where you'll gain hands-on experience in welding and fabrication while working alongside experienced professionals. This is a great opportunity for someone with basic welding experience or training who wants to build a long-term career in the trade.

Responsibilities
  • Perform MIG welding and basic fabrication work on steel components
  • Read blueprints, work orders, and tape measurements
  • Set up and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently
  • Position, fit, and assemble parts before welding
  • Weld and fabricate steel, stainless steel, aluminum, sheet metal, and other materials
  • Grind, clean, and finish welds to meet quality standards
  • Assist with structural assembly and production work
  • Follow production schedules and quality expectations
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and PPE requirements
Qualifications
  • Basic welding experience or welding school/training
  • MIG welding experience preferred
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately
  • Basic blueprint reading skills
  • Comfortable using grinders and shop tools
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Welding or fabrication experience is a plus but not required
  • Experience with TIG, Stick, Flux Core, aluminum, or structural welding is a plus

Work Environment

This is a 2nd Shift position (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM, Monday-Friday) in an industrial fabrication shop. The environment can be hot, dusty, and fast-paced. Employees work with welding equipment, grinders, steel materials, and standard fabrication tools while following all safety requirements.

The pay range for this position is $18.75 - $20.00/hr.
