Position Summary

Northedge Steel is seeking an Entry-Level Welder/Fabricator to join our production team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in producing quality work, and is eager to learn the welding and fabrication trade.

No professional welding experience is required. We are willing to train motivated individuals who have a strong work ethic, dependable attendance, and a positive attitude.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Learn and perform MIG welding on steel components under the guidance of experienced team members.
  • Assemble and fabricate steel components used in the manufacturing of metal buildings.
  • Read and follow work orders, measurements, and production instructions.
  • Safely operate hand tools, grinders, saws, and other fabrication equipment.
  • Inspect completed work for quality and accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Work as part of a team to meet daily production goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work safely.
  • Mechanical aptitude or experience using hand tools is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work throughout the day.

Preferred

  • Previous manufacturing or construction experience.
  • Basic welding knowledge or completion of a welding class or vocational program.
  • Experience operating hand or power tools.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred to support communication within our production team but is not required.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, and lift throughout the workday.
  • Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, dust, and moving equipment.
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
