Geological And Geotechnical Data Collector

Position is responsible for collecting geological and geotechnical data by logging core and chips collected from drilling operations and updating the applicable geologic models.

Your Role:

  • Modify the mine geology model from core logging on a regular basis.
  • Communicate applicable geologic information to Mine Planning and Geotechnical engineers.
  • Assist in yearly geologic map updates.
  • Contribute to special projects, e.g., NARD, rock crusher, sampling, drilling supervision, generation of geologic cross sections, etc.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate project documentation.
  • Interact with personnel and external consultants for interpretation of geology and geologic information.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Geology or related field.
  • Candidates should have 1-3 years of basic geologic work experience including mapping, preferably in a porphyry copper mining application.
  • MSHA certification preferred Will take entry level candidates willing to learn.
  • Candidate must be able to lift and handle geologic core samples for analysis.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
