Job description

Vehicle Loader / Vehicle Handler

Shift: First Shift
Starting Pay: $19.00 per hour; increases to $20.00 per hour after 90 days

Drive New Vehicles and Build Your Career

Road & Rail Services is hiring dependable Vehicle Loaders / Vehicle Handlers for our first-shift operation in Greensburg, Indiana. In this position, you will drive new vehicles through the facility and carefully load them onto railcars for transportation.

This is an active, outdoor job for someone who enjoys working around automobiles and staying on the move. Throughout the shift, you will repeatedly enter and exit vehicles, walk between designated areas, inspect vehicles, and follow detailed loading procedures.

Previous railroad experience is not required. We provide training for candidates who have a valid driver's license, dependable attendance, safe driving habits, and a willingness to learn.

What You Will Do

Safely drive new vehicles throughout the facility

Load and position vehicles inside railcars according to established procedures

Inspect vehicles for visible damage before and after movement

Maintain proper vehicle spacing during the loading process

Follow all company, customer, and facility safety requirements

Enter and exit vehicles repeatedly throughout the shift

Walk and stand for extended periods in a fast-paced environment

Work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, snow, and changing weather conditions

Report vehicle damage, safety hazards, and quality concerns immediately

Communicate with team members to support safe and efficient operations

Keep assigned work areas clean and organized

Complete additional vehicle-processing responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Valid state-issued driver's license

Safe and responsible driving habits

Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions

Strong commitment to workplace safety and vehicle quality

Dependable attendance and punctuality

Ability to work effectively in a production-driven environment

Willingness to learn vehicle-handling and railcar-loading procedures

Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team

Comfortable working outdoors and remaining physically active throughout the shift

Previous experience as a vehicle handler, vehicle loader, automotive porter, lot attendant, yard driver, delivery driver, warehouse associate, production worker, or general laborer is helpful but not required.
