CIP Systems Specialist

Location: Hammond, Indiana Duration: 6 Months, potential conversion to FTE Visa: USC, GC, GC-EAD Interview: Phone/Skype

Required Qualifications for Position

All CIP Systems Specialist 1, 2 and 3 are required to have the following:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer and Information Technology or Electrical Engineering Technology. Experience will be considered.
  • Windows Server administration
  • VMware Server / vSphere administration
  • Citrix XenDesktop / XenApp administration
  • Enterprise SAN administration
  • Linux administration
  • Directory server management
  • Occasional travel, including air travel, ability to meet pressured deadlines and time constraints
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends, available for 24 x 7 on-call access
  • Must have the physical dexterity required to install heavy server equipment

CIP Systems Specialist 1:

  • Entry-level technical skill set
  • Capable of working under general supervision
  • Requires significant day-to-day direction
  • Some tactical break-fix responsibilities
  • Ability to satisfactorily complete technical training and related certifications
  • Contributes to a safe work environment
  • Understands compliance Standards and applicability to job role

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of System implementations
  • Perform all required operational maintenance and troubleshooting of supported systems
  • Develop and implement standards and operating procedures
  • Perform daily backup and recovery operations for the supported systems
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning, development, exercises, and actual events
  • Evaluate and test software changes and updates supplied by vendors, prior to installation
  • Work with vendors, application developers, database administrators, corporate IT, and other technology groups to resolve any problems
  • Conduct routine hardware and software audits of all supported systems to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, procedures, and requirements
  • Maintain proper change management documentation for all hardware and software modifications
  • Provide reliable 24 x 7 support
