What You'll Do:
  • Maintain an ongoing commitment to safety and safe working practices in all engagements
  • Consistently demonstrate expertise in developing high quality site plans, reports, and documents for land development projects
  • Oversee the design and quality assurance of plans produced in alignment with project milestones
  • Adhere to zoning and permit requirements with local, state, and federal agencies
  • Collaborate with project teams to meet project schedules and budgets from initial concept through project closeout
  • Prepare plans, reports, and related documents, including but not limited to grading, erosion control, utilities, roads, and drainage
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other members of the construction team, vendors, and external consultants
  • Manage the procurement and execution of external vendors for a variety of services (geotechnical reports, land surveying, wetlands mitigation)
  • Identify and resolve complex land development issues with reviewing agencies
  • Anticipate adjustments and implement mitigation strategies to proactively manage risk
  • Drive process improvement across the business to foster efficiency and efficacy

What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in land development project engineering and drafting
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license. Preference for licensure in Illinois, Indiana, or Iowa
  • Proficient in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and other related civil engineering software
  • Interpersonal effectiveness, influencing outcomes with effective negotiation
  • Flexible approach to working independently and within a cooperative team environment
  • Enthusiasm to complete additional assignments to meet business objectives
  • Ability to travel occasionally (10%)

Compensation & Benefits:
The salary range for this role, in Deerfield Corporate office location, is between $91,200 - $143,220. While we provide this range as general guidance, several factors are taken into consideration when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, candidate skill set, experience and training, licensure and certifications, work location, and other business and organizational needs. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.
We provide an attractive benefits package that includes comprehensive medical, dental, vision coverage, and life insurance and well as disability coverage for positions working more than 30 hours per week. In addition, we have a retirement program that encourages our employees to save for the longer term, with generous matching employer contributions. Our benefit package also demonstrates our culture of care with paid vacation, sick days and holidays as well as paid personal and maternity/parental leaves and an Employee and Family Assistance Program. In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our program(s) where discretionary pay out of awards is reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.
