Job description

Hiring: Controls Engineer
Location: Libertyville, IL (Onsite)
Duration: Long-Term Contract
Type: W2 Contract
Industry: Medical Devices Manufacturing
We are actively hiring a Controls Engineer for a leading Medical Device Manufacturing client. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with experience in Industrial Automation, PLC Programming, SCADA Systems, and High-Volume Manufacturing Equipment. 
 
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and commission PLC, HMI, SCADA, and machine control systems
• Support installation, FAT/SAT, validation, and commissioning of automated assembly equipment
• Troubleshoot PLCs, motion control systems, vision systems, and industrial networks
• Implement controls improvements to enhance safety, quality, and productivity
• Perform root cause analysis, change control, preventive maintenance, and technical support
 
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 7+ years of controls engineering experience in high-volume manufacturing
• Strong experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, Studio 5000, RSLogix 5000, FactoryTalk SE, and Ignition
• Hands-on knowledge of HMI, SCADA, VFDs, Servo Drives, Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, ProfiNet, RFID, and industrial communication protocols
• Medical device manufacturing experience preferred; Cognex/Keyence/Fanuc vision systems experience is a plus
