Position Summary

Rhinegeist is seeking a Visual Communication Design Intern to join our marketing team for the fall semester. This position is for active graphic design or visual communication design students looking to enhance their education through hands-on experience.

Are you eager to showcase your skills and contribute to a fast-paced and growing team? We are looking for students or recent graduates who want to develop their knowledge by participating in creative projects from start to finish and collaborating with internal creative groups and adjacent departments. Interns will balance independent and team-based work on projects, including branding, packaging, sales materials, event promotions, and more.

Successful candidates will be curious, passionate about the craft beer industry, and excited to tackle the unique challenges of an in-house creative team.

Essential Functions

  • Support visual design needs for point-of-sale materials, sales displays, apparel, social media, packaging concepts, and taproom event promotions.
  • Participate in group ideation and creative workshop sessions.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

General:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited design program with at least three semesters completed.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Strong examples showcasing high-quality design, visual communication, and brand alignment in portfolio

Design Skills:

  • Solid grasp of typography, composition, color theory, and layout principles.
  • Ability to create responsive, brand-consistent designs across platforms.

Software Proficiency:

  • Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Experience with After Effects or Premiere Pro is a plus.

Media Knowledge:

  • Understanding of both print production and digital design best practices.

Strategic amp; Creative Thinking:

  • Ability to translate brand and marketing goals into compelling visuals.
  • Portfolio should reflect strategic thinking and creativity within brand systems.

Work Ethic amp; Attitude:

  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and receptive to feedback.
  • Strong multitasking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Content creation experience is a plus.​
