Job Title: Loader (Entry-Level) Job Location: 4600 Paseo Del Norte NE, Albuquerque, NM 87113 Work Schedule: 5 days/week; 10-12-hour shifts (occasionally longer) Compensation: $22/ hour Full or Part Time: Full-time only

JOB SUMMARY: The Loader plays a critical role in the safe, accurate, and efficient loading of wallboard products for shipment via truck and rail. Key responsibilities include:

  • Safely operate forklifts, mobile equipment, and related machinery.
  • Ensure correct product selection, piece counts, and load securement.
  • Maintain quality standards and product integrity during loading operations.
  • Follow safety procedures in a high-traffic, industrial environment.
  • Support warehouse and shipping operations to maintain operational flow.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to work in a safety-sensitive environment around moving and automated equipment.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to lift/move, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. frequently.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, squat, and bend for extended periods.
  • Basic reading, writing, and verbal communication skills for operational instructions and documentation.
  • Forklift experience desired.
  • Must be able to perform basic math and metrics.

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This operations position is a safety-sensitive position due to routine close proximity to moving and automatic equipment, as well as mobile equipment.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with plant, departmental, and regulatory safety policies.
  • Conduct pre-operational inspections of forklifts, trailers, rail cars, and mobile equipment.
  • Load and secure wallboard products for outbound shipment according to load plans, weight, and balance requirements.
  • Inspect, handle, and store products while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Complete required documentation, including Bills of Lading, load paperwork, and inspection records.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards, including debris removal, dunnage cleanup, and spill response.
  • Operate shrink-wrap equipment, boom equipment, and hand tools according to procedures.
  • Support operational needs across departments as required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS:

  • Full PPE required when operating equipment and when outside equipment cabs.
  • Warehouse, loading dock, and shipping areas with exposure to:
    • Moving forklifts and rail equipment
    • Automated systems and high-traffic industrial areas
    • Outside weather conditions during truck and rail loading
    • Gypsum dust, noise, temperature extremes, and slippery surfaces
