Job description

Title: Assistant Baseball Coach

Job Summary

Jackson State Community College is seeking qualified candidates for the Assistant Baseball Coach position. This position will assist the Head Coach with the organizing, planning and coaching of the JSCC Baseball Team.

Job Duties

· Instruct & teach the fundamentals of baseball technique and strategy

· Assist with the recruitment of student-athletes

· Travel planning and coordination

· Transportation of student-athletes, as necessary

· Equipment maintenance

· Facilities maintenance

· Coaching

· Possessing the technical knowledge and teaching skills to prepare baseball student-athletes for competitions

· Recruit prospective student-athletes to participate in baseball

· Ensure compliance with both national and collegiate policies.

· Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach

Minimum Qualifications

· Associate degree from an accredited college or university
· Prior coaching experience
· A commitment to knowing and complying with NJCAA, TCCAA, and institutional rules.

Preferred Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree

· Ability to work with a diverse population
· Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
· Knowledge of intercollegiate sports operations
· Ability to travel extensively during the recruiting process
· Ability to work in a highly dynamic and diverse university setting

Physical Demands / Working Conditions

• Prolonged periods of physical activity such as running, walking, moving equipment

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

• Prolonged periods of standing at times

• Prolonged screen time

• Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds at times

Pay Rate:  $21.53/hour
