Job description

Position Overview

Crown Sports Incorporated is seeking an experienced, energetic, and player-focused Assistant Travel Baseball Coach to join our 16U travel baseball program. This position is ideal for a former collegiate or professional player, or an experienced travel or high school coach, who is passionate about developing competitive athletes.

The Assistant Coach will work alongside the Head Coach to conduct practices, prepare athletes for tournament competition, provide position-specific instruction, and help create a culture centered on accountability, player development, and excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and conducting weekly team practices and player development sessions.
  • Teach advanced baseball fundamentals including hitting, fielding, pitching, catching, baserunning, and game strategy.
  • Provide position-specific instruction designed to prepare athletes for high school varsity baseball and collegiate recruiting opportunities.
  • Evaluate player performance and provide individualized feedback and development plans.
  • Assist with game management during tournaments, including defensive positioning, offensive strategy, and player substitutions.
  • Promote proper throwing programs, arm care, conditioning, and injury prevention.
  • Foster a competitive, disciplined, and positive team culture.
  • Build meaningful relationships with players and families through professional communication and mentorship.
  • Assist with player evaluations, tryouts, recruiting, camps, and organizational events.
  • Represent Crown Sports Incorporated with professionalism and integrity both on and off the field.

Qualifications

  • Previous coaching experience in travel baseball, showcase baseball, high school baseball, or collegiate athletics preferred.
  • Collegiate or professional playing experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of baseball fundamentals, player development, and game strategy.
  • Ability to coach athletes ages 14–16 in a competitive travel baseball environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Positive attitude with a passion for teaching and mentoring young athletes.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a professional standard.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred.

Schedule & Commitment

  • Evening practices during the week.
  • Weekend tournament availability required.
  • Seasonal commitment throughout the Fall and/or Summer travel baseball season.
  • Additional opportunities to assist with camps, clinics, showcases, and organizational events.
