Job Description Summary
Assist with day to day operations of the department including but not limited to: providing support for production including managing box office and front of house for our theatrical season.
Specific Duties
Box Office Management:
  • Create events on eventbrite to manage ticket sales/reservations for our department productions
  • Handle money and track revenue garnered from theatre productions and other ticketed events
  • Produce box office reports
  • Document work -updating the publicity handbook

Administrative support:
  • Track expenses and reconcile accounts, collect receipts for our accounts and produce monthly reports.
  • Manage contracts for outside providers ie. designers, visiting artists, and rental groups
  • Generate pay advices for adjunct faculty.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Candidates must be enrolled in a graduate program at the University of La Verne.
  • At minimum candidates must demonstrate a familiarity with some of the tools and techniques related to the theatre publicity such as computer software, video, or computer programming by providing a letter of recommendation that speaks to the candidates character and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ideal candidates will have worked on more than one high school or college theatre production and can demonstrate requisite skills in graphics, writing , and video production by way of a portfolio or a letter of recommendation. This position requires patience, a sense of humor, and a sincere desire to help others achieve the highest levels of success in theatre production in order to foster life long learning, diversity, and community building.
  • This Role is designed specifically for Student Workers at Junior, Senior and Graduate status at ULV.

Benefits Summary
Employees are eligible for the following benefits:
One hour of Paid Sick Leave for every 30 hours worked, with a maximum accrual of 24 hours of Paid Sick Leave per year and capped at 48 hours.
University of La Verne Defined Contribution Retirement Plan - can contribute employee voluntary contributions, excluding wages derived from federal work study funds.
In accordance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA), employees who work an average of 30 or more hours per week, will be eligible for medical coverage through the University of La Verne.
Covered under the University of La Verne Workers Compensation Insurance.
