Job description

Position Overview

The Design Coordinator provides administrative and organizational support to the Design team, helping ensure seasonal development materials are prepared, organized, and communicated efficiently. This role works closely with the VP of Design to coordinate fabric and trim development, maintain seasonal libraries, manage sample organization, and support key milestones throughout the product development calendar.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and maintain seasonal fabric and trim libraries, including fabric headers, trim headers, swatches, and development materials.
  • Support the VP of Design by coordinating fabric and trim sourcing requests, yardage needs, vendor submissions, and communication with overseas offices and cross-functional partners.
  • Organize, track, and maintain seasonal development samples, prototypes, and materials for design reviews, sourcing meetings, and presentations.
  • Maintain the T.O.P. sample room, textile library, and seasonal archives, including organizing materials collected from overseas trips and vendor meetings.
  • Support the Design team with sketches, technical flats, presentation boards, line sheets, and seasonal design materials as needed.
  • Maintain design templates, seasonal data, and basic reporting within Centric PLM to support the product development process.
  • Maintain shared design files and the Design Team Manual, ensuring all reference documents, processes, and FAM standards are accurate, current, and well organized.
  • Coordinate team meetings, order office and design supplies, and assist with general departmental organization.
  • Assist with preparing and buyer and licensor presentation packages.
  • Provide additional administrative and project support to the VP of Design and Design team as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in Design, Product Development, Production, Operations, or related fields
  • Experience working with Centric PLM systems a plus
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, Microsoft Excel
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and support deadlines aligned with the Design Calendar
  • Adaptable and able to quickly learn evolving systems, tools, and workflows
