The Department of Enrollment Marketing at North Central College seeks a creative, detail-oriented and collaborative Graphic Designer I to support the organization, creation and deployment of engaging marketing materials and communications. This entry-level role plays a key part in visually bringing the College's brand to life across social, print and web platforms, while also assisting with marketing coordination and outreach efforts.
Working closely with the enrollment marketing team and campus partners, this position is responsible for creating and editing visual assets, supporting content development and assisting with the coordination of marketing projects and communications that engage prospective students and key audiences such as families and school counselors.
Description of Key Responsibilities
  • Support the design and production of visual assets for social media, email and print marketing materials in alignment with the College's brand standards.
  • Create graphics for recruitment campaigns, event promotions, presentations and web content.
  • Assist in the layout and design of print pieces such as postcards, brochures, academic fact sheets and signage.
  • Edit and format existing design files and templates as needed.
  • Select, crop and optimize photography and visual assets for various platforms.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to conceptualize and execute creative ideas that enhance student and family engagement.
  • Assist in writing and editing marketing content for email, web and social media.
  • Ensure content is clear, accurate, accessible and consistent in tone and voice.
  • Support proofreading and quality control of marketing materials.
  • Support creation of seasonal newsletters for key partner audiences including families and counselors.
  • Help prepare and organize marketing materials for events and outreach efforts.
  • Manage updates to online profiles and web platforms to ensure content and visuals are current.
  • Help manage and optimize engagement tools such as website chat and online prospect student communities.
  • In partnership with Director, assist in updating the College virtual tour.
  • Stay informed on design trends, marketing best practices and higher education communications.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Foundational graphic design skills and understanding of layout, typography and visual hierarchy
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Basic writing and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to learn new technologies, platforms and marketing strategies
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

  • Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Monday) or email marketing platforms (e.g., CRM, Constant Contact or similar) is a plus
