Job Title: Entry Level Chemical Technician 

Location:  1391 Mitchell Young Road, Montgomery, AL 36108 

This position is 100% ONSITE.

SHIFT: Night Shift (11pm – 8am) 

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Engineering.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 0-3 years - Entry Level (Manager is not looking for candidates who have more than 3 years' experience).

Overview

  • Students of Chemistry or Engineering who want to get their future started. Team members must have good interpersonal skills, mechanical aptitude, familiarity with quality systems concepts and knowledge of basic IT tools (e.g. MS Office). Team members must be available to work rotating shifts, weekends (when necessary), able to travel on a limited basis and must be physically capable of working on feet for extensive periods of time.

NOTE: This can be a very messy/dirty job, so it requires the right kind of candidate.

SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: 

  • Computer Skills MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Basic Problem Solving / Root Cause Analysis ability, Good verbal and written communication skills, Good interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

  • The Site Representative (SR) at Customer site is responsible for the testing, operation and maintaining of paint detackification system used in the manufacturing of automotive components.
  • The SR will perform a variety chemical tests and document results daily. The SR will learn how to adjust chemistry to maintain and restore the process as needed. This may involve using chemical pumping and controlling systems and manually moving drums of
  • chemistry into application areas using drum dollies.
  • The SR will optimize separation equipment on a daily basis to assist in the removal of paint waste from the process. This may involve adjusting valves and flows of process solutions and separators.
  • The SR will work on repairing chemical feed pumps and other application equipment as needed.
  • The SR will document chemicals used for the assistance in inventory and cost control.
  • This is a manufacturing floor job and requires safety equipment such as steel toes, eye & ear protection, and chemical handling PPE such as face shields, apron, and gloves. Candidate will be expected to obtain their own pair of steel toed boot/shoes as CLIENT
  • nor the end client will pay for this expense.
  • The responsibilities require a combination of technical skills, mechanical aptitude, and physical strength.
  • Daily tasks may look like: Take inventory, check chemical levels and change drums/totes as needed. Run jars for each system and jar test as needed. Adjust feed rates of pumps as needed. Washer checks for both shifts daily (5 stages titration) - This washer check task ONLY applies at this Montgomery AL location.
