Job description

Here's our website job posting: https://americanoffshorefishing.com/pages/join-the-crew-careers

Location: Aiken, SC (2278 Williston Rd., On-site)

Salary: $14 - $18 per hour

About Us

American Offshore is an industry leader in custom marine products. We specialize in custom switch panels, custom dash panels, "Plug-n-Play" switch panels, custom livewell lids, and laser-etched components designed for the "weekend warrior" boat owner and professional marine installers. Our customers rely on us to deliver high-quality, custom-designed products that are easy to install and built to last in a harsh marine environment. We are a fast-paced (but not so fast that we sacrifice quality), hands-on company where precision and craftsmanship matter.

The Role

We are looking for a detailed-oriented Manufacturing Technician to join our production team. You will be responsible for the order picking, sanding, polishing, and assembly of high-quality boat products, ensuring every piece meets the "American Offshore" standard of excellence before it ever hits a customer's boat.

Key Focus Areas:

● Product Assembly: Sanding, polishing, and assembling products with components that require extreme precision.

● Technical Interpretation: Reading and executing builds based on technical drawings.

● Quality Control: Acting as the first line of defense to ensure zero defects in functionality or aesthetics.

● Innovation & Efficiency: Operating modern tech (CNCs, laser engravers) while maintaining old-school craftsmanship.

● Accountability: Taking ownership of your workstation and ensuring orders move through the shop floor on schedule.

Are you the right fit?

● Experience: Operating a random orbital sander, router, and polishing plastic/metals/etc. (Working on boats or 12V experience is a MAJOR plus).

● The "Standard": You are genuinely bothered by rough surfaces, crooked labels, loose wires, or "good enough" work.

● Physicality: Comfortable working in a shop environment, on your feet, and able to lift 50 lbs.

● Drive: You are a self-starter who doesn't need to be micromanaged to maintain a high pace of production.

● The "Maker" Mindset: You take pride in manufacturing and craftsmanship and you’re able to bring a customer’s “vision” to reality. Make it fun!

Bonus Points If:

● You love boats. You love fishing. You love golf.

● (Back to the job parts....) You have experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.

● You aren’t afraid to answer a phone call or cold call a customer.

● You aren’t afraid to present a unique idea to the boss.

● You aren’t afraid to challenge your capabilities.

● You constantly want to grow & improve!

● You are a boating enthusiast who understands our customers' needs.

Why American Offshore?

● See Your Impact: You will play a direct role in the growth and efficiency of our company. You’ll also see yourself grow professionally! We want to train you well enough so you’re able to leave and start your own company, but we want to pay you well enough to stay.

● Product Pride: We build cool, custom products that boaters love to show off.

● Growth Opportunity: As an entry-level tech, you will have the chance to grow your skills and responsibilities as the company expands. We plan to continuously grow. And grow. And grow!
