Job description

The employee works as a member of an assembly line group attaching one unit to another and passing the unit along for further assembly.

Compensation is adjusted within the noted range to reflect current skills upon hire.

Unskilled Assembler:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assemble standard assemblies and subassemblies using process equipment as directed by engineering drawings and manufacturing routers (or MWO).
  • Properly identify products and processes, perform the required job duties as instructed, along with understand the impact on compliance of the Ex, IRIS, TS, and ISO Products/Processes (Knowledge/Competence/Awareness).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Can use small hand tools such as air tools, wire cutter, needle nose pliers, ruler and wire strippers.
  • Requires use of preparatory machinery such as soldering irons, scales, arbor presses, grinder and band saws.
  • Requires use of some inspection tools such as hi-pot testers and multi-meters.

Education and Experience:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Entry Level Test
  • Will be supervised

Skilled Assembler:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assemble standard and complex assemblies using process equipment requiring closer tolerances and/or more precision as directed by engineering drawings and manufacturing routers (or MWO).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Requires use of tools and gauges such as volt or ohm meters.
  • Requires working with inspection tooling, such as calipers, micrometers, hi-pot testers, and

oscilloscopes.

  • Interprets and follows complicated drawings, routings, diagrams and color codes.
  • Checks work for continuity and required voltage (or resistance) and grounds.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to think independently.

Education and Experience:

  • Completion of four skills checklists, each with a score of 2 or higher.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be capable of lifting boxes of material or components to a weight of 50 pounds.
  • Must work with chemicals including liquid epoxy and catalyst, isopropyl alcohol, solder and cleaning agents.
  • Physical Demands:
